Star Atlas allows game developers to use its code and tools for free
We’re opening doors for free development to builders and creators - Micheal Wagner, Star Atlas CEO said.
Star Atlas is a virtual world that allows players to combat and race with other players on spaceships and bikes. Players can also explore their surroundings on a hoverboard or foot.
Yesterday, Star Atlas announced that developers and creatives could freely use its developer tools: IDLs, bindings, documentation and SDK to create Apps. Star Atlas added that developers from other ecosystems are allowed to use these tools.
On the same note, Star Atlas announced SAGE labs, a fully on-chain game whose creators are harnessing Star Atlas’s tools.
Open source initiatives like this enable web3 game developers to create games fast, as Pirate Nation’s CEO predicted.
